David Bowden first became known to us when he performed with the LifeChurch.tv a piece for Easter Celebration.

David is a poet and follows the tradition of the Beat Poets of the 1950’s and Slam Poets of the 1980’s. David uses poetry to challenge and inspire individuals and groups to give a voice to the voiceless, promote social justice, and care for the needy throughout the world.

David writes and performs for non-profits, activist movements, and youth conferences around the country. David is married and living in Oklahoma City, working as the Executive Director of the non-profit Give a Goat.

He is currently here in the Philippines for his Foundation. And this Sunday, he’ll be generous enough to share with us his poetry and talent as he visits LifeChurch Makati. Don’t miss David Bowden as he inspires us this Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 3:30 pm. LifeChurch Makati meets at Glorietta 4 Multi Purpose Hall.

Do you commonly hear these phrases? Or do you catch yourself using these?

Do you think do you need this?

“Kulang ang budget!”

“Walang pera!”

“Naku di ako makakapunta, dami kong trabaho!”

“Sorry di tayo pwede magbakasyon…kapus sa pera at sa panahon!”

We need more financial support. We need more time. Yet these are the things that we complain we do not have.

Let me ask you…don’t you really have no money? Don’t you really have no time?

Here are some facts that we have to consider:

1. All of us were born on this earth on a common ground, we don’t have anything in our hands.

2. All of us have the same 24 hours to live a day.

3. But some people seem to have more time than the others. And some seem to have financial freedom than most of us!

Is 24 hours a day not enough for you?

Why do you think so? Would you like to have more Time and Money like them?

Do you know that Jesus talks more about Money than any other subjects and Time is passionately discussed in the Bible? And do you know that the Church is the best place to learn more about those topics?

The beautiful cone-shaped Mayon Volcano!

I just recently had a trip to one of the most scenic cities in the Philippines – Legaspi City in the Bicol region. The city is very mesmerizing because of the beautiful Mt. Mayon, a perfect cone volcano! Literally, I just can’t get enough of it!

Yet after my travel I was down for two days because of the body pain I had from carrying a heavy load of hand-carry baggage at the two airport terminals going there and coming back here in Manila. I barely functioned my routine work for the church and the body pain made my life completely stopped for two days.

But do you know that that is not only happening physically? Do you know that because of our emotional heavy loads in the past our lives are kept stand still for years?

It could be an abusive treatment from a loved one. It could be a devastating offense done to you some years ago. It could be a breaking treatment given to you by a very trusted person that left you broken and hurting. It can even be a decision, action or sin that you made and the consequence is the worst you can ever imagine.

Emotional baggages can damage your life too!

Those can keep you from moving on and worst you blame yourself! You think that if you shouldn’t have decided and acted on that decision or tolerated those people who tempted, abused or offended you…you will not suffer the way you are suffering today.

You feel like paralyzed and cannot carry on with what you wanted to do in life!

What are your emotional baggages that keep you from moving on with life? How heavy are those? How terrible do you feel about it? Well God has a way to handle it because you cannot do it alone! THAT IS A GOOD NEWS!

If you wanted to be freed from your baggages and your personal failures – God can deal with it face to face! Let Him do it for you!
